Short Report – QA/QC Meeting Apr 2021
Meeting Date: 15 Apr 2021
Participants
LH, WE, MB, AS, IF, MG, RM, TB, PM, LS, GA, BP (12)
Info
- If you are (Tech-)SRP, please attend QA/QC meetings or tell LH if you can’t, needed for planning of the meetings.
- SRP & Tech-SRP: please prepare short statement about your site and send to to LH (max. 2 sentences)
- The purpose of QA/QC meetings is to check on current, incoming data. SRPs choose specific issues we should look at together and discuss in the group. Fluxes are checked if the respective SRP wishes to do so.

Talking Points
- Checking recent fluxes from our stations
- This time we checked several fluxes after applying the quality flag calculated with DIIVE:
- DIIVE combines the info about flux quality that is contained in the EddyPro *full_output* file into one single flag:
QCF = quality control flag
- Here is an example how this works for the CO2 flux @CH-FRU:
- DIIVE combines the info about flux quality that is contained in the EddyPro *full_output* file into one single flag:
- Note the example checks for CH-FRU shown below.
Site Reports
CH-AWS
CH-CHA
SRP (IF): CO2 and H2O, without and with QCF flag applied. CO2 loses another 30% of the data (QCF=2) while for H2O it is 20% (QCF=2). N2O fluxes with QCF flag applied.
CH-DAV
SRP (MG): CO2 and H2O (absolute flux limits applied as the inly QC criterion)
CH-FRU
SRP (LH): Recent fluxes of CO2, LE and H. Also shown are the wind direction alongside CO2 flux and the AGC value from the open-path IRGA.
CH-INO@CH-OE2
SRP (RM): CO2, H2O, CH4 and N2O fluxes after QCF were applied.
CH-LAE
SRP (AS): CO2 and H2O fluxes: heatmaps
CH-LAS
SRP (AS): CO2 and H2O fluxes: heatmaps
CH-OE2
SRP (RM): CO2 and H2O fluxes after QCF were applied.
