Biomet Data (6 Meteo Variables)

For the calculation of Level-1 fluxes in EddyPro, we include 6 meteo variables for improved flux calculation and correction.

The 6 meteo parameters are:

  • Global radiation (SW_IN; Rg in EddyPro)
    supported units: W m-2, J s-1 m-2
Can be used in the “multiple regression” version of the off-season uptake correction (Burba et al., 2008).
  • Long-wave incoming radiation (LW_IN, Lwin in EddyPro)
    supported units: W m-2, J s-1 m-2
Can be used in the “multiple regression” version of the off-season uptake correction (Burba et al., 2008).
  • Photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD or PAR; PPFD in EddyPro)
    units: μmol m-2 s-1, μE m-2 s-1
Can be used to assess day and night-time radiation loading on the surface of the instrument, to apply the appropriate coefficients and modeling of the instrument surface temperature in the off-season
    uptake correction.
  • Relative humidity (RH)
    supported units: %
Replaces the mean values as estimated from eddy covariance data or from site characteristics.
  • Air temperature (TA; Ta in EddyPro)
    units: K, C, cC, F, cF, cK
Replaces the mean values as estimated from eddy covariance data or from site characteristics.
Used e.g. in WPL correction for IRGA75.
  • Atmospheric pressure (PA; Pa in EddyPro)
supported units: Pa, hPa, kPa, PSI, Torr, mmHg, Atm, Bar
Replaces the mean values as estimated from eddy covariance data or from site characteristics.
