    • Erroneous eddy covariance data between 12 Jun and 11 Jul 2023 14:00: EC data from the main tower during this time period must not be used. In June and July the sonic anemometer produced erroneous wind data, best seen in the clear offset period (in blue) for the unrotated wind component w, (see plot below). Luckily, we had parallel measurements from a test system (see below) in close proximity (metres) that can be used instead. The test system used a different, new logging script, see here.
    • Parallel measurements from test system:
      • This system was installed between 9 May 2023 and 11 Jul 2023 to test the new EC logging script rECord. Its EC raw data files are already logged in ASCII format, therefore a separate conversion to ASCII (via bico) like we need for data recorded with the sonicread script is not needed. Instead, rECord data files can be used directly by fluxrun and EddyPro.
      • The time lag for the test system is longer than usual, with peak lag times of 10.2s for the covariance between wind and CO2/H2O. This was due to a buffer implemented in the rECord script.
    • The rECord files did not have AGC (window dirtiness) available as separate variable. AGC was therefore extracted from the gas analyzer diagnostic value and inserted as new column in all data files, using diive v0.69.0.
    • Fluxes calculated from sonicread and rECord files have overlapping time periods. During these periods, sonicread fluxes was given preference.


CH-FRU 2023: In June and July the sonic anemometer produced erroneous wind data, best seen in the clear offset period (in blue) for the unrotated wind component w. EC data from this time period must not be used.

    • Level-1: The plotting of the full_output file was done in a separate step due to a min/max error during histogram creation in FCT 0.86. I simply added a try-except clause in the histogram code and that solved the problem (i.e. it is still FCT 0.86, but in this case with the clause, I did not give a new version number here because it only affects plotting). This clause will be added in future versions of FCT starting with FCT 0.88.
